evening meeting with the Boss

the boss
good news on a monday morning. Tay Springle called me and asked if I was busy on tuesday night. turns out i now have a G.A. floor ticket to see the Boss tomorrow night here in LA. It's his second of two shows in LA this week, and I am so excited.

I still have my copy of the river, and a bunch of other vinyl from my mom's record collection. I remember her taping (on beta no-less) the video for 'i'm on fire' off of MTV sometime in late '85. They played the video like every hour on the hour. it was beautiful. I still have the tape.

for those of you who haven't seen it, here's the full video.

also, if you have ever had any doubt as to just how much bruce kicks ass, well, doubt no more.

my first REALLY long term project

so i recently got an insanely great deal on the car i have been dreaming about for ages. a 1966 Land Rover Series IIa 109" Station Wagon. Registered since new in california, this rover has 93,000 documented miles. insane!
irish rover

granted, she needs a bit of work, but that's the fun part. i'm going to start with the mechanicals, then move on to the interior and then the exterior later on.

so here's a little primer on land rover history

my rover goes into the shop on monday to get the brake drums rebuilt all-around, plus getting the carb rebuilt. she'll running like a charm by the end of the week.

you can check out pics of my rover here. and below i'll include some sweet land rover instrcutional films from the late '60's/early '70's. i'm really looking forward to our next big camping trip/ bachelor party so we can do some sweet vintage 4x4 action!
