Mister Jalopy digs my rover

well it was bound to happen sooner or later. a couple months ago i spent some time hanging out with Mister Jalopy of hooptyrides, coco's, MAKE magazine and most recently of dinosaurs and robots fame, which he created with Mark from boinboing. (among other things, like being featured in a japanese tool collectors magazine)

so i cruised over to dinosaurs and robots after a weekend of ignoring the internet, and found a nice little mention of myself here. No photos from our time hanging out, but a link to a nice little puff piece on land rovers from the NYT. We had a great time driving the rover from my house down to Whittier to check out Amanda's late great uncles' garage. Mister Jalopy shot a bunch of great photos of the amazing amount of beautiful garage stuff we found, plus a bunch of photos of my rover. maybe they will see the light of day before the rover is sold, but who knows. I'll keep you all updated, as im sure you're hanging on the edge of your office chair/couch haha!

"meet three remarkable women...."

such an amazing story. stuff like this makes me think about how much REALLY has changed in the last 50 years. think about how dangerous it would be now for three women to drive overland from london to the himalaya now! check out the telegraph article, it's a great read. Also make sure to watch the video which is filled with original 16mm footage from their trip, and interviews with all three of these adventurers. oh yeah, what did they drive? need you ask?
